Napa Valley Elite's piece on how to find and join a wine club which works for the consumer’s budget comes as a recent survey suggested that wine club members are more likely to have early access to new or experimental wines. Vineyards will often make a small batch of their new wines and rely heavily on the feedback wine club subscribers provide them before taking the product to market, explains Napa Valley Elite’s sommelier.

“Wine club members usually have, or are in the process of developing, a broad palate,” said a Napa Valley Elite spokesperson. “Therefore, they are more inclined to try something new and can provide more helpful tasting notes to winemakers than an amateur - in essence, they speak the same language. The more successful of these experimental new wines are then developed into the latest trends in the wine world.”

Napa Valley Elite explained that they have witnessed this most recently with "orange wine", a white wine made with grapes which retain their skins, giving the resulting wine a darker, orangey hue. This is expected to be a "hot trend" for 2024 but was first seen included in caseloads delivered to wine club subscribers for their feedback.

The new guide describes to readers how they can access these rare, small-batch bottles as one of the many perks of a wine club subscription. Napa Valley Elite also included tasting tips and advice on how to pair these new wines with foods in their guide.
